How to Take The U.S. Citizen Test

You can take the test and become a U.S. citizen easily. There are two recommended ways to become a U.S. citizen. The traditional route of applying for citizenship and waiting your turn takes longer but it does work. The faster route is to join the U.S. military and request to be fast tracked through the immigration process. Both methods will require that you take the U.S. citizen test at some point during the process.

BEGIN - Apply to become a U.S. citizen by going to the U.S. Embassy nearest you. Let them know if you would like to apply for citizenship the traditional way or by joining the military. Joining the military has many other benefits such as learning to speak English faster, learning job skills, learning American customs and paying you a salary. The U.S. Embassy should be able get you started on your journey to U.S. citizenship.

Follow all of the rules and do exactly what they recommend. Other avenues of immigration may be illegal and risky. Your best chance at becoming a U.S. Citizen is to follow the laws of the United States of America.

STUDY - Take the time to study properly for your test. You should be told the things that you will need to study during the immigration process. It is best if you find someone that can help you study. An American citizen that knows their history would be the best study partner. Do the best you can to find someone that will be helpful. Continually test yourself until you feel that you are properly prepared to take the test. The test is not meant to be so difficult that individuals will fail it, it is meant to prove that you know what America is and how it came to be.

TESTING - Show up early when it is time for you to take the U.S. Citizenship test. Appear as professional as possible to give a good impression. Learn English to the best of your ability before taking the test. It will help you to perform better. Don't be nervous, if for some reason you do not pass the test, you will be given another chance to take it.

Being prepared to take the U.S. citizen test will help you to pass the test and become a U.S. citizen. Take this task seriously and do your best. This process will change you and you will be well on your way to becoming a U.S. citizen after you take the test.
