How to Use Mosquito Control Techniques

You can use mosquito control techniques at your home to keep mosquitoes away and protect your family from the diseases and parasites that they carry. Mosquito bites are dangerous, painful and itchy. Take some simple steps to keep mosquitoes away from your home and family.

STANDING WATER - Remove all standing water from your property and the surrounding area. Even a small amount of standing water can breed mosquitoes. Check empty flower pots and kiddie pools. Make sure that you pour out all of the water in children's pools every day when you are finished using it. Search for standing water everywhere. Is there water trapped in plastic toys, puddling under flower pots or under water faucets?

TRIM BACK TREES AND SHRUBS - Cut back trees and bushes around your home. Especially if the trees or bushes touch your home, roof or decking.

USE CITRONELLA CANDLES - Light citronella candles around the area that you want to be free from mosquitoes. Citronella candles are one of the easiest and most affordable ways to control mosquitoes.

MOSQUITO REPELLENT - Use mosquito repellent lotion on all parts of your exposed body when mosquitoes are out. It is not pleasant, but it is better than being bitten by a mosquito and suffering the consequences.

CLIP ON MOSQUITO FAN - Use a new product that clips onto your clothing and deters mosquitoes from landing on you and biting you.

PROPANE POWERED MOSQUITO TRAPS - Try using a propane powered mosquito trap if you have a large area that you need to protect from mosquitoes. They cover up to a square mile.

You can use mosquito control techniques at your home to keep the mosquitoes at bay.
